If you enjoy eating a candy treat once in a while, Halloween is always the best excuse to do so! In order to avoid further complications, try eating sugar-free candy or chocolate, which contains more natural ingredients. Also, to avoid hard or chewy candy that sticks in your teeth.

Our dentist recommends the following after eating candy:
  • After chewy or hard candy, remove anything that is visibly stuck with a toothpick or rinse your mouth with a glass of water.
  • Make sure you brush thoroughly. Try to cover every space, and place special emphasis on your back teeth.
  • Don’t forget to floss. Little candy pieces that get stuck between teeth and help create the perfect environment for bacteria to grow!
  • Rinse out with mouthwash.
